Today, I’m joined by one half of the Rhewination: Erin Rhew. For those that don’t know, Erin is a young adult fantasy author who is married to adult thriller author, Deek Rhew. Together, they are “the Rhews,” and their street team is the Rhewination!
*Just as a note- I received these books for free from Erin Rhew in exchange for my honest opinion*
Last week, Deek went on blog tour to celebrate the release of his latest book, 122 Rules. And this week, Erin is on tour to promote her fantasy trilogy, The Fulfillment Series! PS. There’s a giveaway–a $50 Amazon gift card!!
So, here’s a little bit more about Erin, Deek, and The Fulfillment Series:
The Prophecy (Fulfillment Series Book 1)
Wilhelm, Prince of the Ethereals, is reluctant to meet his new bride. He’s grown up believing Vanguards are evil, an enemy to fight and fear…not love. Can he set aside his prejudices and work alongside Layla to bring lasting peace after centuries of war?
Nash, a loner who has never fit in, carries a huge secret, one big enough to destroy both kingdoms. When he accidently meets Layla, he’s no longer content to live in the shadows, but he must resist his growing attraction–for her safety and for the longevity of the two kingdoms.
When Nash’s secret is revealed, a firestorm sweeps through both realms, with Layla at the center. Now she must choose between duty and desire while the fate of two nations hangs in the balance.
I Absolutely LOVED the plot of The Prophecy! The story pulled me into the world right away and it was very hard to put the book down once I started. The world building was excellent and Erin did a good job with writing just enough detail. I also like that it was told in multiple points of view. That really gives you a great connection with all three main characters.
Layla, Wil and Nash are awesome. I was able to connect with all of them, even the supporting characters! I wanted to laugh with them, cry with them and oh yeah…I even fell in love just a little bit! The romance is okay, well perfect for the young adult genre, I just like a little more…Ummmm…adult stuff… BUT this is a young adult, so the romance is totally acceptable! I did think it was a little weird, but then it all gets explained and when it does you will get this AH-HA moment! So yeah, great romance!
The ending was a shock for me. I did NOT see that coming. I hope things start getting easier for Layla though, since that other someone showed up! – See NO spoilers!!- Erin Rhew wrote this very well and I’m looking forward to reading the next book!
The Outlanders (Fulfillment Series Book 2)
The Outlanders start right where the first book, The Prophecy, ends. Which is a great thing because I would have HATED if there had been some sort of break.
There was a lot more detail in this book, which I LOVED, and it brought the world even more alive. Which I didn’t even think was possible because Erin did such a good job of world building in the first book.
The new characters that came in were great also. To me this book was just better than the first one, the drama, suspense, fantasy…just wonderful!
Now on to the final Book-I have to say I’m EXTREMELY excited to read it!
The Fulfillment (Fulfillment Series Book 3)
Wow…I can’t believe it’s over.
This book is the end to an amazing trilogy and I want every fantasy reader to read it. I hate that the series ended, but I believe it ended in a good way. I just don’t like endings to anything…
I hate to say this, but did anyone else feel that this book was a wee bit rushed? I wasn’t overly upset about the rushed feel; I just wasn’t expecting it to feel that way when the first two books weren’t rushed at all.
I like how every question I had was answered and how everything was explained and the book ended with a happy ending (I just LOVE happy endings!) Erin just did an excellent job with this series and I am looking forward to whatever she may write in the future!
About Erin Rhew
Erin Rhew is an editor, a running coach, and the author of The Fulfillment Series. Since shepicked up Morris the Moose Goes to School at age four, she has been infatuated with the written word. She went on to work as a grammar and writing tutor in college and is still teased by her family and friends for being a member of the “Grammar Police.”
A Southern girl by blood and birth, Erin now lives in a rainy pocket of the Pacific Northwest with the amazingly talented (and totally handsome) writer Deek Rhew and their “overly fluffy,” patient-as-a-saint writing assistant, a tabby cat named Trinity. She and Deek enjoy reading aloud to one another, running, lifting, boxing, eating chocolate, and writing side-by-side.

Deek lives in a rainy pocket in the Pacific Northwest with the stunning YA author bride, Erin Rhew, and their writing assistant, a fat tabby named Trinity. They enjoy lingering in the mornings, and often late into the night, caught up Erin’s fantastic fantasy worlds of noble princes and knights and entwined in Deek’s dark underworld of the FBI and drug lords.
He and Erin love to share books by reading aloud to one another. In addition, they enjoy spending time with friends, running, boxing, lifting weights, and exploring the little town–with antique shops and bakeries–they call home.
