PMS can be a real witch.
Ivie McKie isn’t your run-of-the-mill kindergarten teacher. After an encounter with a horny goat, followed by a confrontation with her lying, cheating fiancé, Ivie is shocked when the big jerk suddenly transforms into a skunk—the black and white furry variety.
Enlisting the help of her shopaholic friend Chloe and sexy club magician Jackson Blake, Ivie is forced to play a literal game of cat and mouse as she races against the clock to change her ex back before she’s arrested for his murder.
With every new spell comes a fresh wave of sexual desire, drawing Jack further into Ivie’s troubles—her panties, the car, the kitchen, and assorted seedy bathrooms along the way.
Ivie soon discovers what every witch worth her spell book knows: There’s nothing worse than a bad case of Post Magical Syndrome.
I liked this story and I can relate to wanting to turn a few of my ex’s into quite a few different things just for the fun of it!
Ivie is very enjoyable and Jack is smoking hot and the chemistry is great, and while the book was funny and a decent romance I just can’t really rate it higher than three stars and here is why.
Chloe was a great friend character, but I feel that she was just distracted from the story instead of being something good for the story. Also…the sex scenes were something you would generally read about in erotica…and believe me…this IS NOT erotica, but it’s not really a romance either? I guess I’m just confused there. I wanted more actual relationship from this and not just the literally instant sex and right after that love kind of thing. I guess I just don’t like fast paced books, I like mine to be even paced and steady with a gradual buildup of an intense emotion….It’s really hard to find those now days!
Anywho, it’s a great read and rather funny, but just too fast for me! Give it a shot though because it might just be your cup of tea!!
*I received a complimentary copy of the book from Netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.*
About the Author:
When she’s not busy writing or tending to her collection of crazy chickens, diabolical ducks, and a quintet of piglets, hell bent on having her for dinner, she’s either reading bad fan fiction or singing karaoke in the local pub. Much like the main character in To Katie With Love, Erica is a magnet for disaster, and has been known to trip on air while walking across flat surfaces.
How she’s managed to survive this long is one of life’s great mysteries.
